Emma Stonex’s Les gardiens du phare continues to make waves in France and has just been shortlisted for the Prix Gens de Mer 2022. The prize was launched in 2006 and celebrates debut novels with maritime themes.
Les gardiens du phare is one of five titles shortlisted for the prize, which are selected by literary and maritime personalities including sailors, editors, booksellers, and authors. The winner will be announced at the Etonnants Voyageurs Festival in Saint-Malo in early June.

The Gens der Mer association aims to contribute towards the promotion of sea-related literature that explore the mysteries of the seas and the great voyages to be taken. Only published in March, Les gardiens du phare has already had great success in France with amazing reviews and many booksellers flagging it as a “Coup de Coeur”.
We couldn’t be more delighted that Emma’s novel has been chosen and recognised for her incredible storytelling. Here’s to many more great voyages!
