Trailer Released for Elizabeth Macneal’s The Doll Factory from Paramount+

The official trailer for The Doll Factory based on the novel by Elizabeth Macneal has been released by Paramount+.

Produced by Buccaneer Media (Marcella, Crime and Whistable Pearl), the six-part series will be available to stream on Paramount+ from 27 November, with all episodes released on 1 December.

The Doll Factory has been adapted by rising screenwriter Charley Miles, with Sacha Polak (Hanna, Dirty God) on board as director and Suzanne McAuley (Magpie Murders, Maigret) serving as producer. Buccaneer Media has also produced the recently released thriller series, The Burning Girls for Paramount+ based on the series by C.J. Tudor.

Leading the cast is Esmé Creed-Miles (Hanna) as Iris, Éanna Hardwicke (The Sixth Commandment, Normal People) as Silas, Mirren Mack (Sex Education, The Witcher: Blood Origin) as Rose, and George Webster (Wedding Season) as Louis.

Set in London in 1850, The Doll Factory tells the story of Iris, who paints dolls for a living alongside her twin sister, Rose, and dreams of becoming an artist. Silas is a taxidermist who owns a shop filled with his creations. He dreams of one day finding an item so unique he will be catapulted to fame. Louis is a painter and member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, searching for his next muse. When Iris meets Silas, and then Louis, she is offered an opportunity to escape and start a new life. To do so, she must abandon her sister, sacrifice her reputation, and launch herself into the unknown. But as Iris’ world expands, a story of dark obsession begins to unfold. The Doll Factory is an intoxicating and evocative thriller exploring obsession, jealousy, art, passion and the disempowerment of women.

Viewers in the UK can expect to watch the show on Paramount+ and public broadcasters SBS in Australia and New Zealand’s TVNZ have pre-bought the series with Cineflix handling further international distribution.

We are so proud of Elizabeth and this show! Watch the full trailer HERE.
