Happy publication day to Natasha Hastings, whose whimsical and wintry debut Middle-Grade series, The Miraculous Sweetmakers: The Frost Fair, publishes today (HarperCollins Children’s Books).

Rights were acquired from Chloe Seager in an astonishing six-figure, three-book deal. In the first title of the series, Hasting transports readers to 17th century London, in a time where the Thames has turned to solid ice, and a troubled young girl is swept into a life-changing magical adventure.

Michelle Misra, Editorial Director at HarperCollins Children’s Books, described the book as ‘a beautifully written mystery adventure story about friendship, resilience, and the power of familial love’, while Alice Jerman, Editor at HarperCollins Children’s Books US praised The Miraculous Sweetmakers for its ‘classic fantasy elements that nod to beloved favorites, an incredibly imaginative magic system based on sorrow and memories, a delightfully brave main character, and a fantastic setting’.

Congratulations, Natasha! If you haven’t already, you can get your copy here:
