The newly original YA novel, Old Wounds by debut author Logan-Ashley Kisner, published in the US by Delacorte in hardback. It will also be publishing in the UK with Usborne later this week.

Erin and Max are two transgender teens trying to get to California. Max is desperate to finally transition and Erin longs to understand why she’s on this trip to begin with, especially since she last spoke to Max two years ago during their sudden break up. They realise they have much bigger problems to face. The locals believe they have the perfect female candidate to sacrifice for the ancient monster in the woods — according to them, the sun won’t rise again until it eats a girl… and it only eats what it kills. And no one selected has ever survived the night. The irony of the situation is almost too much to fathom with Erin’s and Max’s secret. The teens need to come together and stop running from their attackers, each other, and ultimately, themselves.

“Wholly original, endlessly subversive and genuinely terrifying.”
Laura Steven, author of The Society for Soulless Girl
