Knights Of snapped up Radhika Sanghani‘s YA debut novel, Here To Slay which will be the lead of their 2024 YA launch.

Set to be published on 5th September 2024 in paperback, Here To Slay follows Kali who has a lot to deal with – her crush doesn’t notice her, her parents love her cousin more, and not to mention a big family wedding overshadowing her 16th birthday! As if that wasn’t enough, demons start appearing to ambush her. Turns out, every girl named after the demon-fighting goddess Kali are gifted with special powers to fight demons. With super confident, K by her side to teach her to be a demon slayer, can Kali save the world while its fate rests in her hands?

Sanghani shared that this coming-of-age story is “inspired by both my love of ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and my fascination with Hindu mythology surrounding the goddess Kali. As soon as I came up with the idea, I knew that Knights Of was the perfect home for it.”

Acquiring the UK and Commonwealth rights from our Director of Children’s & YA, Chloe Seager, editorial director Eishar Brar commented that “Radhika’s queer Indian girls fighting demons and family expectations are so funny and loveable. I truly can’t wait for this book to reach readers in September.”

Radhika is the author of several books, including I Wish We Weren’t Related and Thirty Things I Love About Myself. Her middle-grade debut novel The Girl Who Couldn’t Lie is publishing on 9th May 2024 with Usborne.

Congratulations Radhika! We can’t wait to start slaying with Kali!
