It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas in Shepherd Market! We’re kicking off the highlights this week with some fabulous cover reveals.
The Umbrella Mouse by Anna Fargher and the brilliant collection of stories, The Ladybird Tales of Superheroes, was featured in Toppsta Blog’s “100 Most Popular Children’s Books of 2019”. Check it out here!
Elizabeth Macneal’s The Doll Factory has sold 554 hardback copies in November, bringing the total to just under 18,000 copies – an outstanding achievement. The Doll Factory has been making waves across the pond, too. This week it was included in a round up in the New York Public Library’s “Best Books of 2019” round up.
Jane Healey has received a stunning quote from bestselling author AJ Pearce for The Animals at Lockwood Manor. She said: “Jane Healey’s excellent debut novel is a rich story full of tension and darkness. The star of the novel is the claustrophobic Manor itself, which casts a shadow over every page and hides a truly horrible secret. Atmospheric and disquieting, The Animals at Lockwood Manor is an ideal book club read.”
Abbie Greaves’ gripping novel about a couple that haven’t spoken for half a year, The Silent Treatment, has been included in Stylist Magazine‘s “Best new books of 2020 to look out for“, alongside long-established authors Maggie O’Farrell, Marian Keyes and Hillary Mantel as well as many more!
Nuala Ellwood’s chilling thriller, The House on the Lake, has received a stunning endorsement from Agency author, Teresa Driscoll. She said: “Creepy and deliciously atmospheric, this novel has it all – twists and turns and a powerful emotional punch. Highly recommend.”
Stephanie Wrobel’s psychological thriller about a mother/daughter relationship, The Recovery of Rose Gold, has been included on NewsWeek’s round up of the “20 Most Anticipated Books of 2020“. Steph recently recently received the most brilliant endorsement from The Amazon Book Review: “Can one thriller tell another, “Hold my beer”? Because while Sharp Objects pretty much set the gold standard for twisted mom and daughter thrillers, Darling Rose Gold may be about to give it a run for its money.”
Clare Pooley’s heart-warming novel, The Authenticity Project, has received a brilliant review from bestselling author Sophie Kinsella. She said: “I loved The Authenticity Project. It has such an intriguing premise, wonderful characters and is utterly truthful about the lies that we all tell. It’s a clever, uplifting book that entertains and makes you think.”
Last night, we celebrated the success of our fabulous authors at the MMLA Christmas Party!
