Mel is also doing a Facebook Live event at 12:30 today where she will talk to her editor, Helen Huthwaite, about all things that make her new novel tick.

Tick Tock features the same plucky protagonist as Hush Hush, DS Grace Allendale, who has become a firm favourite of Mel’s large following:

Since 2012, Mel has acquired a large following of dedicated readers, and has been praised by the best in the business:  There are a lot of young crime writers that I’ve just met for the first time. There’s one called Mel Sherratt – she’s very interesting” Ian Rankin, multi-award winning crime writer.

Mel has sold over one million copies since she started writing; she was shortlisted for the prestigious CWA (Crime Writer’s Association) Dagger in Library Award 2014 and was on the list of Stoke-on-Trent’s 100 most influential people.

In the city of Stoke, a teenage girl is murdered in the middle of the day, her lifeless body abandoned in a field behind her school.

Two days later, a young mother is abducted. She’s discovered strangled and dumped in a local park.

DS Grace Allendale and her team are brought in to investigate, but with a bold killer, no leads and nothing to connect the victims, the case seems hopeless. It’s only when a third woman is targeted that a sinister pattern emerges. A dangerous mind is behind these attacks, and Grace realises that the clock is ticking…

Can they catch the killer before another young woman dies?

Mel has already received some brilliant reviews:

“A terrific read!”  Martina Cole

“Twists and turns and delivers a satisfying shot of tension” Rachel Abbott

“Fans of Martina Cole will love this” Katerina Diamond
