We’re thrilled to announce that due to the continued growth of the agency, a new position has come up at Madeleine Milburn.

We are looking for an energetic, creative and highly-motivated literary assistant with at least one year’s relevant experience to help facilitate the smooth, day-to-day running of the agency. This vital role is best suited for someone embarking on a career in publishing with a long-term desire to work in the industry. You should have a proven track record of administrative excellence and a passion for books.

As part of a dynamic team your role will demand a sense of urgency coupled with an aptitude for calm, an articulate phone and writing style, a desire to learn and to initiate, and outstanding organisational standards.

This is an ideal chance to learn about many different aspects of working at a literary agency, and the right candidate will have opportunities to grow within the company.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): assisting all agency staff where needed, reading and reporting on manuscripts, scheduling, office administration, communicating with clients, answering the telephone, updating the website and agency social media, processing royalty statements and managing book fair administration.
