We’re thrilled to share the news that Holly Bourne will be judging the BBC Young Writers Award 2017 alongside Nikesh Shukla and Alice Levine.

The award is open to all young people aged 14 to 18, who live in the UK. All you have to do is create a story of up to 1000 words on any topic that shows real imagination and creativity. The shortlist of the top five stories will be announced Saturday 30 September 2017.

The winner of the BBC Young Writers’ Award 2017 will be announced at an awards ceremony broadcast live on Radio 4’s Front Row on 3rd October 2017. The winner will have their story broadcast on BBC Radio 1 and receive a personalised mentoring session with an author to help develop their writing skills.

We also received the amazing news that Holly’s novel Am I Normal Yet?  won the Southern Schools Book Award on Friday evening (3rd February).

As you can see from the photo above, it came as a complete surprise to Holly, but not to us! A well deserved award for a fantastic book, competing against three other incredible YA novels.
