This week saw paperback sales of Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman exceed 400,000 copies sold, making it the bestselling book of 2018 to date.
After 18 weeks, the award-winning title – No. 2 in the paperback charts and still No. 1 in Ireland – has sold 402, 753 copies, pushing it in front of Tom Kerridge’s Lose Weight for Good (Absolute).
In other news, Eleanor Oliphant won Best Fiction at the 2018 Audie Awards. This is the latest gong to have been handed to the audio, which is narrated by Cathleen MacCarron. In 2017 it won a US Audiofile Earphones Award and a Silver Award in the Radio Indies Group’s UK Audio Production Awards 2017. It has also been mentioned on several “Best of 2017″ lists, including those of Audible.com and the American Library Association.
In 2018 it was shortlisted for a British Book Award for Best Audiobook, an event which also saw it being crowned as Book of the Year, Debut of the Year and the HarperCollins marketing campaign for the title won Marketing Campaign of the Year.
Oh, and did we mention Madeleine Milburn also won Literary Agent of the Year…?
Huge congratulations to Gail, and to Cathleen for her superb – and award-winning – narration.
