There’s just one week left to enter the Caledonia Novel Award, the exciting writing competition that Madeleine Milburn will be judging. Whether you’ve been writing for years or have just started out, Madeleine is keen to read your work.
The Caledonia Novel Award is open to any unpublished or self-published writer from around the world and Madeleine will be judging all the entries with a view to recognising talent.
Entries must be submitted by 1st November 2017, and all genres are welcome from upmarket women’s fiction, to high concept crime and sweeping historical fiction. Madeleine has set aside her weekends leading up to Christmas to read the entries back-to-back, and remarked: ‘I am so excited to read all the entries – I love being the first to spot new talent, and I am eagerly awaiting the deadline so I can get started! I think this is a great award to acknowledge writing talent. I am totally open to any genre and am keen to read literary fiction too. Most of all, I will be looking for unique voices and strong characters.’

A writer from the British Isles and Ireland will also receive a free place on a writing course at Moniack Mhor Creative Writing Centre: www.moniackmhor.org.uk. The winner will be able to choose from a selection of week-long residential courses taking place in 2018.
