We are so proud to announce that Skin by Kwan Ann Tan has been crowned the short story winner of the Bournemouth Writing Prize 2023. The Bournemouth Writing Prize is an annual international short story and poetry writing competition judged by influential figures from the publishing world, including publishers, agents and award-winning authors and poets.
The judges comments said: Funny, moving, engrossing and with brilliant characterization and great writing – there were so many moments in this story that I loved. The ending is bold and strange, and shows exciting ambition. An extremely polished and accomplished piece of writing, in which every word earns its keep – I’d love to see more from this author.
