It’s the day Holly Bourne fans up and down the country have been waiting for – her latest adult fiction novel, Girl Friends, publishes today in the UK (Hodder & Stoughton).

Set between the present day and the past, Girl Friends is Holly’s third adult fiction novel, and follows formerly inseparable Fern and Jessica as they are unexpectedly reunited in adulthood. Both a joyful celebration of female friendship and a razor-sharp look at the damage we can all cause to those we claim to love the most, Girl Friends is at turns blisteringly funny and heart-breaking.

To celebrate publication, Holly was a guest on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, where she spoke about her brilliant new novel, the male gaze and the power of female friendship. It’s a must-listen, and you can find the episode here. In the run-up to publication, Girl Friends was an Editor’s Pick in the Bookseller (September 2022), and was one of Cosmopolitan’s Best New Books (September 2022). On the big day, Holly is doing a Q&A at Waterstone’s Piccadilly in conversation Daisy Buchanan, which is set to be a truly special evening.

Early copies of Girl Friends have been prompting fantastic reviews from authors, just a selection of which are below:
