Following our huge week of publications last week, we’re back with the highlights.
This week it’s all about the chart positions.
Since its publication on 2nd May, Elizabeth Macneal’s The Doll Factory has shot straight into the Top Five of the hardback bestseller list, currently sitting at No. 5. Elizabeth held a beautiful launch at Leighton House last week. She is touring the country over the next month talking about The Doll Factory; find an event near you here.
Leah Hazard’s Hard Pushed also leapt into the Non-Fiction Hardback Top 20 at No. 12 this week. Leah celebrated the launch of Hard Pushed in Glasgow on Wednesday.
Gail Honeyman’s Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine has recently climbed back up the New York Times bestseller list, and is currently at No. 6. The novel has sold nearly 2.25 million copies across all formats in the UK and Commonwealth alone, and has nearly sold a million paperbacks, with the current figure at 985,023. In the US, the novel has sold over a million copies across all formats.
C.L. Taylor’s Sleep is maintaining its spot in the charts this week, and is still in the top 20, at No. 19 this week. This is the fifth week the novel has spent in the charts. It was at No. 9 last week.
Anna Fargher’s The Umbrella Mouse received a five star review from the Telegraph over the weekend, and was named as the Book of the Week. The review called the book “Enchanting… beautifully written”.
Alice Sutherland-Hawes, Children’s & YA agent, has been announced as one of the judges for SCBWI Undiscovered Voices 2020 , and took part in a Facebook Live Q&A last night. She can’t wait to start reading the submissions!
Our Foreign Rights Director, Liane-Louise Smith, is currently at the Turin International Book Fair pitching our books to publishers all over the world.
On the international front, Turkish rights to Fly by Jess McGeachin have gone to Bilgi Yayinevi.
Polish rights to Jennifer Bayliss-Jennings’ The Twelve Dates of Christmas have gone to Burda Media.
Greek rights to Elizabeth Kay’s Seven Lies have sold to Minaos to be published as a lead for 2020.
