It’s hard to believe that we are now coming to the end of the sixth week of lockdown, particularly when you see below everything achieved by the MM authors and illustrators in the past seven days. We’ve been particularly blown away by all of the incredible chart positions this week. Here are the highlights…

C.L. Taylor’s new thriller, Strangers, has hit an incredible No. 18 in the charts, and is at No. 9 in the Kindle charts this week.

Clare Pooley’s uplifting debut, The Authenticity Project (Penguin Random House / Transworld), has been reviewed by The Sunday Express, who said: “A moving tale about loneliness, parenthood, addiction and the importance of living the best life you can.”

This stunning novel has this week hit an outstanding No. 24 in the charts, and Clare took part in a BBC Radio 2 Interview for Jo Whiley’s Book Club on Monday evening.

Gail Honeyman’s multi-million copy bestselling novel, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is back in the Top 10 on the New York Times bestseller list – this week at No. 10. This brilliant novel was first published in the US in 2017 by Penguin Random House / Pamela Dorman Books.

Kate Weston did an Instagram Live session with Women’s Writes feminist book club on Tuesday to talk about her new novel, Diary of a Confused Feminist (Hodder Children’s Books).

Her Mother’s Lies by Rona Halsall hit No.1 in Canada over the weekend, No. 32 in the US and No. 52 in UK. Rona’s most recent novel, One Mistake was published on Tuesday by Bookouture.

Caroline Mitchell’s crime thriller, Truth and Lies (Amazon Publishing / Thomas & Mercer), hit No. 4 in the US Amazon Police Procedural Mysteries Charts this week. Check out this awesome video…

Jess McGeachin’s stunning picture book, Colin Collects Colours (Little Bee Books), has been longlisted for the World Illustration Awards. This is the second time Jess has been longlisted for this prestigious prize.

Caroline Bishop’s The Other Daughter (Simon & Schuster) has received two stunning quotes this week from acclaimed bestselling authors. Tracy Rees said: “Treat in store, readers! Well written & pacy. Full of gorgeous scenery, emotion & SUCH fascinating stuff about women’s rights through the decades. Lots to relate to”

And Rachel Hore called it “A fresh, original, passionate and page-turning story about women’s choices and past secrets that demands to be read.”

Abbie Greaves’ The Silent Treatment (Penguin Random House / Cornerstone) received a wonderful review from The Sunday Express: “Abbie Greaves’ debut is a must-read – the moving story of a long marriage beset by challenges Frank and Maggie had never envisaged they’d have to face. Abbie Greaves may be only 27 but she’s definitely an author to watch.”

Bestselling author Holly Bourne’s new adult novel, Pretending (Hodder & Stoughton), has been chosen for TV personality Toff’s Bookclub:

This brilliant, realistic and hard-hitting novel is currently at No. 25 in the hardback charts, and received a fabulous review from The Sunday Express: “Bourne is searingly honest about the trials and tribulations of modern dating and unafraid to examine the dark side of human relationships.”

Pretending is also currently at No. 80 in the Kindle Top 100.

Paddy Magrane’s twisty suspense thriller, Red Desert, was published today by Audible Original.

Sarah Hagger-Holt’s Nothing Ever Happens Here (Usborne) has sold to Little Bee in the US for publication in April 2021.

Teresa Driscoll’s I Am Watching You (Amazon Publishing / Thomas & Mercer), which recently passed the million copy sold milestone, has been named by Goodreads as the 15th Most Popular Mystery over the past five years. It is also at No. 3 in The Bookseller Heatseeker’s Fiction charts.

Hannah Tovey’s The Education of Ivy Edwards was published in Kindle this week by Piatkus. The novel was included in Heat magazine’s round up. They called it “A brilliant debut”.

Claire S. Lewis’ No Smoke Without Fire was published this week by Head of Zeus / Aria.

In Style included Darling Rose Gold (Penguin Random House / Berkley Books) by Stephanie Wrobel in an article of the “10 Fiction Books to Help You Escape from the Real World“.

C.J. Tudor’s The Other People (Penguin Random House / Michael Joseph) has been named as the number one borrowed title worldwide by Ulverscroft library.
