We are delighted to announce that three agency authors have been shortlisted for the 2021 Romantic Novel Awards. Clare Pooley’s The Authenticity Project (Penguin Random House / Transworld) and Abbie Greaves‘ The Silent Treatment (Penguin Random House / Century) are nominated for the Katie Fforde Debut Romantic Novel Award, while Fiona Valpy’s The Skylark’s Secret (Amazon Publishing / Lake Union) is shortlisted for the Goldsboro Books Historical Romance Novel Award.
The Authenticity Project has been going from strength to strength ever since its publication, spending three weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, and getting chosen as a Radio 2 Book Club Pick. It seems the whole world has fallen in love with the little green notebook and Monica’s cast of friends as much as we have!
Abbie Greaves’ The Silent Treatment, the beautifully written story about a husband and wife who have not spoken to each other in six months, was a Radio 2 Book Club Pick, and Jojo Moyes said that it was a ‘remarkable debut‘. Abbie herself has been featured in a series of brilliant press features including this piece she did for the Guardian on ‘Top 10 books about silence‘ and this interview on what inspired her for her magazine.
Finally, Fiona Valpy’s gorgeously crafted historical romance novel set in Loche Ewe The Skylark’s Secret (Lake Union Publishing) has received rave reviews since publication, with bestselling author Gill Paul commenting on how it was a ‘moreish story of love, war, loss, and finding love again, set against an atmospheric Highlands backdrop.’
Congratulations, Clare, Abbie and Fiona! We couldn’t be happier for you and all your achievements. And if you haven’t already ordered copies of these moving books, you can do so here (The Authenticity Project), here (The Silent Treatment) and here (The Skylark’s Secret).
