It has only been a few weeks since The Maid by Nita Prose was first published in North America, and it is already taking the world by storm. This dazzling debut set in the five-star Regency Grand hotel was first published on 4th January in the US and Canada to rave reviews. The New York Times has called it an ‘endearing debut’, and Publisher’s Weekly said ‘fans of fresh takes on traditional mysteries will be delighted’.
The Maid was an instant bestseller within the first week of sales, hitting the New York Times hardcover list at No. 8, and breaking in at No. 1 in Canadian Fiction and No. 2 in Original Fiction on Toronto Star.
Apple recently chose The Maid as one of their January Must-Listens, and it was No. 3 on their Apple Books bestseller list. This instant hit has received nothing but praise, and was even chosen as a Good Morning America January book club pick. Watch Nita talk about the writing experience here:
Hollywood is buzzing about this novel, with a film adaptation already on its way. Film rights have been optioned by Universal Pictures, with Academy Award nominated Florence Pugh set to star as the leading lady, Molly the maid.
