The Specsavers National Book Awards 2018 shortlist has been released, and it’s exciting news for Gail Honeyman and C.J. Tudor.
Gail has been shortlisted for two awards for her multi award-winning novel, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine – one in the Popular Fiction category and the other in the New Writers category.
C.J. Tudor’s novel, The Chalk Man, has been shortlisted in the Crime and Thriller category, sitting alongside writers such as Robert Galbraith, Val McDermid, and Ian Rankin.
Gail and C.J. are no strangers to awards – The Chalk Man was shortlisted for the CWA Steel Dagger Award, and Eleanor Oliphant was the winner of the Costa First Novel Award 2017 as well as being awarded Book of the Year at the British Book Awards 2018. Despite heralding from polar opposites of the genre spectrum, both books have regularly ranked together at the top of the charts, and are Sunday Times bestsellers.
Wishing both Gail and C.J. the best of luck in their respective categories.
The winners of the Specsavers National Book Awards 2018 will be announced on 20th November.
