It’s publication day for Robin Morgan-Bentley.
His fabulously twisty new thriller, The Wreckage, is published in hardback today by Orion / Trapeze.
With the audiobook set to be narrated by much-loved actress Emilia Fox, this novel has caused a stir within the industry. Last month, it was featured in Dead Good Books “Debut Crime Novels to Look Out for in 2020“. They said: “With flawed but believable characters, a pace that builds throughout and a plot that makes it truly difficult to put down, The Wreckage should be high on your reading list.”
And more recently, The Times gave a fantastic review, saying: “the stage is set for a thrilling, creepy climax and a double-whammy twist. A more than promising debut.”
The Wreckage has received brilliant reviews from bestselling authors ahead of publication, including Fiona Barton (“Clever and compelling!”), C.L. Taylor (“Immersive, compelling and gripping”) and Rosamund Lupton (“A twist I never saw coming, and a male main character with insecurity and vulnerability – I’ve never met anyone like him in a thriller before”) amongst many more.
The novel follows Ben, whose life is changed irrevocably one rainy morning…
Things will never be the same again…
Ben is driving on the motorway, on his usual commute to the school where he works.
A day like any other, except for Adam, who in a last despairing act jumps in front of Ben’s car, and in killing himself, turns the teacher’s world upside down.
Wracked with guilt and desperate to clear his conscience, Ben develops a friendship with Alice, Adam’s widow, and her 7-year-old son Max.
But as he tries to escape the trauma of the wreckage, could Ben go too far in trying to make amends?
And because we can’t get enough of it, we wanted to include the brilliantly creepy video Trapeze made for the cover reveal…
