It is with real pride and a great deal of excitement that we can announce Reese Witherspoon’s new company Hello Sunshine has set up to produce Gail Honeyman’s wonderful debut, Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine, which will be a potential star vehicle for the Oscar-winning actress.
Witherspoon, who produced the book-generated films Gone Girl and Wild and the HBO series Big Little Lies, formed Hello Sunshine with the goal of continuing to find female-centric literary properties for film and TV projects.
The news was released on Deadline to coincide with this week’s US publication of Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine (Penguin Random House/Pamela Dorman Books). The book will be published in the UK by HarperCollins/HarperFiction on 18th May and has garnered 27 translation deals to date. It has also received rapturous reviews from Jojo Moyes, Jo Cannon, Nina Stibbe, Cathy Rentzenbrink, The Guardian and Red magazine as their ‘Book of the year’.
