We are so excited to announce that debut author Nashae Jones’s Middle-Grade romantic comedy, Stupid Cupid, has been acquired by Jessica Smith at Aladdin in a two-book deal. Publication is slated for spring 2024. The second book is due to follow in 2025. Chloe Seager at Madeleine Milburn negotiated the deal for North American rights.
On her thirteenth birthday, Erin Johnson discovers she’s the daughter of Cupid and manifests her own powers to make people fall in love. She vows to use her powers for good—which, in her opinion, includes making the arrogant and annoying Trevor Jin fall for her so she can convince him to stop competing with her to be top of their class. But when she finds that the consequences of using her powers are bigger than she realized, she must rethink her beliefs on love—and Trevor himself.
Of the two-book deal news, Nashae said on Twitter: ‘I’m extremely grateful to my family and friends who helped me through this process, and of course I couldn’t have done this without my rockstar agent Chloe Seager. I’m over the moon excited to continue this journey!’
Congratulations, Nashae!
