Now in its fourth year, YALC – the Young Adult Literature Convention – is the place to be if you’re a fan of YA fiction. Bringing together fantastic authors, publishers and readers, three of our authors will be appearing this year across author events, writing workshops, book signings, book-themed activities and more.

Hayley Barker will be talking about her debut Show Stopper as part of the New Voices panel first thing on Saturday at 9am, alongside Karen M. McManus and Katherine Webber. Show Stopper is the first in a gritty new dystopian series set in a deadly circus – it’s been highly praised by YA readers as ‘high-octane’, ‘spectacular’, and ‘the next big YA book this summer’.

Holly Bourne, bestselling YA author of The Spinster Club trilogy and a regular star of YALC, is on two panels. First, as a chair in conversation with E. Lockhart on Saturday at 2pm, and then starring on a panel called Life Advice at 1pm on Sunday with Sara Barnard, Hannah Witton and Gemma Cairney. Her next YA book, It Only Happens in the Movies is out in October. As Holly says herself, the book is about how not all boys are like Ryan Gosling in The Notebook, and real love definitely isn’t like the movies.

Both authors will be signing copies of their books directly after their panels.

Plus, don’t miss the Snapchat filter for C.L. Taylor‘s debut YA, The Treatment, to win a special prize. You might also spot some badges which give you entry to The Reform Academy itself, if you dare…
