A HUGE congratulations to Lara Williamson whose second novel, The Boy Who Sailed the Ocean in an Armchair, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Blue Peter Book Award 2016! Lara is shortlisted in the Best Story category, alongside Ross Mackenzie and Frank Cottrell Boyce.
The Blue Peter Book Awards are now in their 16th year, and are particularly unique in that copies of the shortlisted books will be sent to schools across the UK where more than 200 young Blue Peter viewers will read and vote to decide the winners in each category. Previous winners include Michael Morpurgo, Pamela Butchart, Tom Gates and Oliver Jeffers.
The winners will be announced on the Blue Peter programme on 3 March 2016 (World Book Day), when the results will be announced live and the authors will be awarded their trophies.
