Eleanor Oliphant Is Complete Fine by Gail Honeyman continues its run at the top of the charts, as well as being nominated for more domestic and international awards.
The title is currently at No.2 in the paperback bestseller charts, having sold 20,000 copies in the week ending 14th April, with over 600,000 copies being sold across all formats in the UK alone.
It is also Number 4 in the Audible bestseller charts, which coincides with the news that the audio book app have launched a ‘Reasons to be Cheerful’ collection for Spring, featuring Eleanor Oliphant as one of five lead titles.
The title is also doing exceptionally well in New Zealand, where it stands at No.3 on the overall Bestseller list, and No.1 in International Fiction. In addition, it has just been announced that Gail Honeyman has been shortlisted for the Australian Book Industry Awards , in the International Book of the Year category. The AIBAs are much like the British Book Awards, in which Eleanor has also been nominated.
Back in the UK, the Author’s Club has shortlisted Eleanor Oliphant in their Best First Novel Award. Inaugurated in 1954, the Authors’ Club Best First Novel Award is now in its 64th year, making it the longest-running UK prize for debut fiction and very nearly the oldest literary prize in Britain.
Finally, Dawn O’Porter – TV presenter and author – has created an Instagram book club named @the_cold_water_book_club, in honour of all those books you read in the bath until the water is cold. Already amassing just under 35,000 followers, Dawn has picked Eleanor Oliphant as her first read. The first posts have gone down a storm – have a look here: https://bit.ly/2JZQxVt
