We’re thrilled to announce that Bonnier Books UK imprint Embla Books has signed two more titles by bestselling crime author Caroline Mitchell. The first title, The Bone House, will be out in Ebook, paperback and audio in April 2023, with another book following in 2024.

The Bone House is the third title in the Slayton Thriller series. When hundreds of birds fall into Slayton’s lake, it is labelled as an anomaly of nature. But Cora Hart knows it is the start of the reckoning, and when the skeletal remains of an infant are found in the lake, Detective Sarah Noble is called to investigate. The first book in the series, The Midnight Man, was shortlisted for an Audie Award, and is a Kindle bestseller along with the second title, The Night Whispers.

Former police detective Caroline Mitchell said: “I’m thrilled at the prospect of working with my highly talented editor, Jane Snelgrove, and Embla Books again. They are an incredible team of people with genuine passion for each and every book. Thanks also to my agent, Madeleine Milburn, and her team for brokering this deal. I’m very excited to continue our journey together on all fronts.”

Jane Snelgrove said: “Caroline is a master at her craft and I could not be more thrilled that we will be bringing her fans more books in the brilliant Slayton series – which I know will go from strength to strength. It is a delight to work together and I know readers are going to love The Bone House.”

Madeleine Milburn said: “It has been clear from the very beginning that Embla Books and Caroline’s editor, Jane Snelgrove, are the perfect home for the Slayton series, and I am incredibly proud of all that they have achieved together. The Bone House is going to delight fans of the series and I am thrilled to see its continued success.”
