The Madeleine Milburn Literary, TV & Film Agency is a dedicated, passionate, and global literary agency based in London. Described by The Bookseller as ‘a major force in publishing’ and known for launching authors’ careers, MMA represents award-winning and bestselling authors of adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction. The agency has ties with publishers around the world, and works directly or in partnership with film agents in London and LA to option Film & TV rights to leading production companies and film studios.

  • First point of contact for the agency: answering phones; taking messages for agents; greeting visitors; opening, distributing, and sending post.  
  • Website Maintenance: writing and publishing news posts on WordPress; adding and updating author profiles and books pages; updating website content on an ad hoc basis when needed.
  • Social Media support: supporting the agency’s social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn by scheduling and uploading publication day posts and sharing client news.
  • Administrative Support: Managing two email accounts and responding to and directing enquiries; writing the minutes for meetings as requested; keeping track of upcoming publications; contacting clients with proof requests; supporting the assistants with royalty processing in peak periods.
  • Submissions Reading: providing book reports on promising submissions and talent-spotting in the submissions inbox on an ad hoc basis when requested by agents.
  • General Office Management: Buying office supplies; keeping the office and bookshelves tidy; preparing meeting rooms for appointments; liaising with suppliers and trades people where necessary.



  • Confident and competent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Office-based / administrative experience


  • This is an office-based role in Clapham, south London
  • We would like someone to be able to start as soon as possible
  • Hours are 10am-4pm, Monday to Thursday
  • You will be paid £13.15 per hour for a 20 hour week
  • The traineeship lasts for a minimum of 4 months
