A brilliant opportunity to join a dedicated and passionate literary agency in a flourishing team.

The MM Agency is looking for a highly organised and proactive Part-Time Contracts Associate who is looking for a new challenge in a fast paced and exciting environment. The successful applicant will have at least three years of experience working in a similar role, ideally in a publishing or entertainment environment. They should also have a rock-solid understanding of the range of rights and subsidiary rights associated with book publication and a keen desire to keep abreast of ever-developing working practice across the industry. A good knowledge of copyright and contract law issues is essential, and any background in Book to Film rights is a plus. We are looking for a professional who is confident in comparing, negotiating, and drafting a wide range of agreements and licenses in line with best industry practices. Finally, the individual should be able to independently prioritise a varied workload, whilst also communicating effectively with colleagues and the agencies publishing partners.

Responsibilities include negotiating, processing, and tracking all publishing contracts that come into the agency, liaising with our agents and publishing partners, providing authoritative advice to agents and the rights team on the implications of offers terms and copy right and contractual matters, and managing the development and maintenance of the agency’s suite of precedents and boiler plates. This includes drafting clauses and contractual language where necessary.
