We are thrilled to announce that Soula Emmanuel’s Wild Geese has won the 2024 LAMBDA Award for Transgender Fiction. Described as the “most exciting new voice in Irish writing” by I-D Vice, Soula was shortlisted for the 36th LAMBDA Literary Prize for Transgender Fiction earlier this year.

Wild Geese is an intimate exploration of memory, migration, and queer desire. Nearly three years into her transition, Phoebe Forde gets an unexpected visit from her ex-girlfriend, bringing back memories of Dublin and the life she thought she had left behind. Over the course of a weekend, their romance rekindles into something sweet and radically unfamiliar as Phoebe navigates nostalgia and hope.

The Lambda Literary Awards were created in 1989 to garner national visibility for LGBTQ books. Each year the award celebrates more than 150 LGBTQ writers across 26 categories.

We couldn’t be more proud of Soula’s achievement!
