We are delighted to announce that Nikki May and Silvia Saunders have both been chosen as winners at this year’s Comedy Women in Print Prize, taking home the Sue Townsend New Voice award and the Unpublished Novel award respectively!
Nikki’s hotly anticipated 2022 debut Wahala was the inaugural winner of the New Voice award for a debut published author (part of Penguin’s Sue Townsend legacy initiative with CWIP) for what judges called a ‘comedic and joyously relatable friendship thriller’.
Meanwhile, in the Unpublished Novel Prize section, Silvia Saunders was crowned winner for her debut novel Happy Above Us, securing a publishing contract from HarperFiction. Happy Above Us follows Mara, who believes her life’s problems will be solved when she inherits enough money to buy her own flat in London, only to realise that building an ‘adult life’ in your twenties is not so straightforward.
Congratulations, Nikki and Silvia! We are so proud of you.
