We are thrilled to share that Lex Croucher was announced as the winner of the YA Book Prize 2024 with their award-winning book, Gwen & Art Are Not In Love! The ceremony was held at the Edinburgh International Book Festival (EIBF) hosted by judge and author, Alice Oseman.

Published by Bloomsbury in May 2023, the queer YA romance follows Princess of England, Gwen and the future lord, Arthur who were betrothed to each other since birth. When Gwen catches Art kissing her bookish brother and Art discovers Gwen’s diary about her crush on the kingdom’s only female knight, they reluctantly agree to pretend to fall in love with each other to assure mutual protection. But how long can they keep up this ruse?

Gwen & Art Are Not In Love has previously been shortlisted for several other awards, including the TikTok Book Awards 2024, the Barnes and Nobles’ Children & YA Book Awards 2024, and the Nero Book Awards 2023. Lex’s new book, Not for the Faint of Heart was also recently published with Bloomsbury in August 2024; a queer romantic comedy featuring Mariel, the granddaughter of Robin Hood, and Clem, a healer who is kidnapped by the Merry Men.

Several of our authors who had join Lex in the shortlist include Benjamin Dean with How to Die Famous, Laura Steven with Every Exquisite Thing and Kate Weston with Murder on a School Night.

A huge congratulations to Lex on their win and we’re so proud of all four of our authors! Read the full article here.
