Meghan Kobza is a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at Newcastle University. A historian working on the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, she specialises in dress, material culture, and leisure history. Her first history book, Masquerade: Unmasking Georgian London (out in 2025), brings the vibrant cultural phenomenon of the masquerade to life through the varied and colourful experiences of people, places, and material objects within the Georgian elite. Kobza completed her PhD at Newcastle University in 2020, and has taught courses on the history of Britain, North America, and global history in the UK and US. She has written academic articles and books, including pieces for The Conversation.
