Biography

In a career spanning 30 years Laurence Anholt has produced more than 200 books in dozens of languages, for every age from babies to adults.

These include his newest ventures into adult crime fiction, Art of Death and Festival of Death, both published by Constable Little Brown, and the multi-award winning Young Adult novel, The Hypnotist, published by Penguin Random House. For more than a decade, Laurence has been amongst the top 200 Most Borrowed Authors from UK libraries across all genres.

Laurence comes from a Dutch family with roots stretching back to Persia. He has a Master’s Degree in Fine Art from the Royal Academy in London. He lives and works in an upside-down eco-house on a hill overlooking the sea in Devon. Laurence is married to the artist, Catherine Anholt. They have three grown up children and three grandchildren.
