DALE KEDWARD is an expert in medieval literature at the Árni Magnússon Institute, home to the manuscript treasures of medieval Icelandic literature on UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register. Dale received a BA in English from the University of Birmingham and an MA in Norse and Viking Studies from the University of Nottingham before completing a PhD at the University of York. In 2019 he received a major grant from the Carlsberg Foundation to curate an exhibition, The Vikings and the Medieval Future of Space Exploration, at the National Museum of Iceland and Frederiksborg Castle in Denmark. He is the author of The Mappae Mundi of Medieval Iceland.
